O&O AppBuster helps users inspect and manage built-in Windows apps. Remove only packages you recognize and do not need; restore points and documented changes matter more than an aggressive cleanup count.
- Review installed apps in Windows Settings.

What “bloat” means in practice
A preinstalled app is not automatically harmful. Some are optional shortcuts or entertainment software, while others support core Windows workflows, accessibility, or device setup.
Uninstalling rarely used applications may free some space or reduce visual clutter, but it is not a guaranteed large performance improvement. Start with Windows Settings > Apps and check the app’s storage size, behavior, and whether it launches at startup.
The O&O AppBuster interface can help review both common and less visible app packages, depending on your Windows release.
Safer removal habits
Write down the application name and publisher before removing it. Search official Windows or device-maker documentation when the package is unfamiliar. If an item is required by another app or hardware feature, leave it installed.
Prefer an ordinary uninstall to complex manual registry edits or forced deletion of system packages. Make one change at a time and check that the Start menu, search, and other workflows still work.
On organization-managed computers, follow administrator policies. Some apps may be redeployed automatically or be controlled by device-management rules.
What to do if something stops working
Check whether the application can be restored through Microsoft Store, Windows optional features, or the tool’s own restoration facilities. Exact capabilities depend on the release.
For larger cleanup tasks, create a full backup before changing packages. A restore point helps with certain changes but is not a substitute for backing up personal files.
